A fusion between classic violin and African percussions.
This musical encounter between violin and African percussions gives a show called “Choc et Fusion.” Program, improvisation, African music and works by Bach for solo violin played by Virginie Robilliard accompanied on percussions by Thomas Guei .
Virginia Robilliard is a brilliant winner at 17 years of the Long-Thibaud International Competition, a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, pursuing an international career as a soloist. With her passionate world music and improvisation, Virginia Robilliard also gives an important place in the creation of works by living composers.
Thomas Guei was born into a family of musicians and traditional dancers. At the age of 7 he joined the EDEC, one of the best art schools in the Ivory Coast. Since then, he has worked with choreographers such as George Momboye and Merlin Nyakam among others. Thomas Guei toured and taught around the world which allows him to transmit and share his passion for music. << Alliance Francaise Kampala
