Nederburg Wine-Maker Heinrich Kulsen visits Kampala for Kampala Restaurant Week

Monday 8th June, 3pm, Urban By CityBlue , Nakasero As part of the inaugural Kampala Restaurant Week happening from June 2 to June 13, 2015, Nederburg Wines, sponsor of the event, has flown in expert wine maker Heinrich Kulsen from the Nederburg Wineries in South Africa to visit Kampala’s restaurants.

Wine Maker Heinrich Kulsen is scheduled to visit the 40 Participating Restaurants in Edition 1 of Kampala Restaurant Week and will be offering his expertise on making the perfect Meal – Wine Pairings for memorable dining experiences. The move aims to uplift and improve quality standards in the domestic restaurant industry and create internationally competitive dining experiences.

The vastly experienced Wine Maker Heinrich in his remarks stated; “This is my first time in another African country outside South Africa and the experience is already fantastic. The people are warm and friendly and I look forward to engaging with Kampala’s restaurants and working with them on improving their quality.”

The 40 participating restaurants, for the duration of the event, are all creating big special edition meals that they are all presenting to guests at low prices fixed to UGX 15,000 (Casual Meal) and UGX 25,000 (Signature Meal). The concept of the event is to attract people to visit the restaurants and experience their cuisine, ambiance, service and creativity at a discount.

Guests can see all participating restaurants via and plan their restaurant visits right away.

In her comments, Julian Namale Public Relations Executive and Coordinator for Kampala Restaurant Week said

We are very happy to have the Wine Maker visit us from South Africa and Ugandan restaurants are going to vastly benefit from his visit and from his expert input and guidance”.

Kampala Restaurant Week is domestic initiative to uplift local tourism through exposing Ugandans to unique and bespoke experiences within their own country.
