One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush visits Uganda
Sophia Bush, a renowned American actress visited Uganda last month for a charity fashion trip in Gulu and also got time to visit Murchison Falls National Park and explore the Source of the Nile in Jinja. She is most popular for her role in the popular TV series One Tree Hill where she acted as the lovable Brooke Davis and her latest drama series- Chicago PD where she acts as a detective. She has also starred in major blockbusters like John Tucker Must Die, the Hitcher and more.

Sophia Bush interacted with women who are creating varieties of jewellery and bead accessories including bracelets, necklaces, cultural dressings as livelihood to improve on the quality of their lives. She visited three projects; the Akola Project, Sseko Designs and 31 Bits who are doing their part in empowering communities.
Akola Project are a non-profit social business set-up to empower women in eastern Uganda through producing and selling of hand and neck jewellery designs in order to raise their families as well as communities out of poverty.

Sseko Designs is a well known fashion brand that in Kampala that makes African designed footwear, leather handbags as well as neck and hand jewellery. 31 Bits was first established to cater for displaced people after the rebel war but later turned into an employment base for the victims of the war.
Sophia Bush did not stop there, she went on a guided safari in Murchison Falls Park where she had a good time in the wild as shown in this picture.

Murchison Falls Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Uganda visited by a number of popular people including Sir Churchill Winston, famous American journalist Earnest Hemingway, British royals, Theodore Roosevelt and now just added Sophie Bush to the list of celebrities to visit Uganda’s oldest park. The Murchison falls might be the star attraction in the park but visitors also enjoy encountering a variety of big and small game like Buffaloes, Lions, Elephants, Antelopes, warthogs, Bushbucks, Hartebeests, Giraffes plus lots of birds including the famous African fish eagle, Egyptian geese, Ground hornbill, Kingfisher birds, Yellow billed stork, Cormorants among others.
