Seeing so many standard modern hotels on my trips it was a good refreshing sight to get some old traditional colonial style hotel with the history to back it up. A hotel that claims to be the oldest should do exactly that, retain the historical value. Thus well done on keeping the style and still ensuring it is newly painted and functioning well.

The bar/restaurant area is nice and crisp with a good atmosphere and the staff is very friendly and most helpful. Food was good at dinner and the breakfast eggs cooked to order.Fresh juice and real uganda coffee at breakfast is always a plus.

The drawbacks would be the noise from the road which could be stopped with some double glazed windows without changing the appearance. Meanwhile I cant really blame the hotel for the notorious guest sitting outside talking on Skype as if he was the only guest in the hotel.(without headphones mind you.)
