Overview & Features

This eclectic contemporary safari lodge in Uganda has been converted from an old coffee processing plant and has incredible views overlooking the Queen Elizabeth National Park, with the mythical Mountains of the Moon in the far distance.

The main lodge building was originally a coffee store and processing plant, surrounded by coffee plantations. The original structure has been sensitively restored to create a stunning and contemporary living space, balancing the history of the building with a series of distinct luxurious spaces for guests to relax.

The beautiful bandas have each been nestled into the hillside with their eco-luxury comforts including en-suite bathrooms and an individual view of the park.

After a stopover in Entebbe and a 3 stop flight to Kasasse this was the first stop on our 5 week visit to Africa. We were met by Moses who was to be our guide for the next 4 days at two lodges in Uganda, and for those of you lucky to have had him as your guide you will understand why we thoroughly enjoyed his company. The lodge is situated on the edge of the Gorge with truly fantastic views. The rooms “bandas” are very comfortable and named after members of the local chimpanzee family. We were the only guests at the lodge during our stay and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, welcoming and hospitable. We went Chimpanzee trecking though be warned, they move fast! And were lucky to see a leopard on an afternoon drive, not a frequent occurrence. On leaving and travelling on to Bwindi we had the pleasure of 4 hours on the Ugandan “motorway”, a treat not to be missed.
