I ate here with my family in December and it’s really a nice place to hang out

This little place is a great little expat hang out that serves some good local coffee grown in Uganda, fantastic little farmers market on saturday mornings and good service.

Prunes is awesome, I like the food and drinks, the environment too but the very out standing thing is the support they give to the community. Prunes Cafe is in partnership with Kitenge Africa Foundation. ( http://www.facebook/kitengeafrica ) A grass root charity working to assist Orphans and Vulnerable Children including the Homeless ones.

    In 2012, the management of
Prunes Cafe sponsored a fundraiser at the restaurant that assisted the charity to buy a piece of land out side of town to have 30 vulnerable children resettled there.

That is spectacular of Prunes Cafe, when you support Prunes, you have indirectly supported a vulnerable child somewhere.

An all-time favourite of mine; gr8 food, gr8 service, gr8 people, serene, conveniently located & extremely safe & enclosed.

    Check it out!

It’s always a great place to have brunch, but this Saturday they extended brunch to 3pm! Score! They offered bottomless mimosas and I guess there was some strong sangria on the menu because we were assaulted by a crowd of drunk people getting drunker by the day. For a place that’s normally great to hang out with the family, this loudness was just uncomfortable. However, the food was the usual expected standard. One of my friends ordered banana and nutella crêpes and she ended up with banana, nutella and cheese. It was not a good combination. The waiter was great enough to exchange it for her, however. Overall, a good experience save for the loud partiers. But hey, bottomless mimosas.

I tried prunes in November during my trip to Uganda and I must say it’s by far one of the best places to hang and feed that belly! Beautifully designed , love the wall art, all together bring the place to life . Kids and family deadly place. Food is delicious . My favorite things were the salad bar, the steak sandwich, chocolate cake, and of course exquisite coffee ! I kept going there! Love love.
