The primate safari is designed to offer up-close visits to man’s closest relatives in the wild; the primates in both Uganda and Rwanda. Uganda alone boasts of over 13 primate species including the only surviving gorillas in the world. It is one of the most fascinating wild experiences one can ever have! Highlights: chimp trekking, gorilla trekking, Parc de volcanoes-Virunga, Dian Fossey, nature walk, golden monkey trekking, city tour-Kigali


Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after finalization of the formalities, you shall be welcomed by your guide.

Day 2: Travel to Kibale national park
After breakfast, you will depart and drive to Kibale National Park, driving past the Rift valley Escarpment.

Day 3: Chimp trekking
After breakfast you will go for Chimp tracking: enjoy a wonderful forest experience and look out for over 13 species of primate including chimpanzees. In the afternoon, you may chose to either stay at the lodge resting or visit a local school that we are partnering with. Accommodation: Kibale forest camp (FB)

Day 4: Drive to Bwindi
Today you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi or directly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. You shall rest early enough to prepare for Gorilla trekking the next day.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking
This morning you will get up very early to prepare for the upcoming gorilla trekking which will take between 2 and 6 hours, but is well worth the effort. After Gorilla trekking, you have an option of taking a nature walk in the thick forest.

Day 6: Travel to Virunga, Rwanda
After breakfast, depart for Parc National des Volcanoes. The journey goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that show much of Rwanda’s landscape. Accommodation: Lapalme hotel (HB)

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Rwanda
You will once again visit mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You can choose to relax in the afternoon or take a tour of Ruhengeri town.

Day 8: Second gorilla trekking
Today you will choose from having a second Gorilla trekking, visiting the Dian Fossey’s grave, golden monkey trekking, hiking the Bisoke Mountain and having a nature walk. In the afternoon you can relax in the hotel and enjoy the impressions of the morning.

Day 9: Kigali tour and Departure
Today, you will drive to the capital of Rwanda in Kigali. You will have a city tour as well as visit the Genocide Museum in the suburb Gisozi. In the evening depart for the Airport and take your flight back home.
